ICCS Gala Dinner, Thursday 2 February 2012

TASMANIAN WINE & FOOD EXTRAVAGANZA!

GALA DINNER CELEBRATING THE 8TH INTERNATIONAL COOL CLIMATE SYMPOSIUM

Thursday 2 February, Tasman Room, Wrest Point

The Gala Dinner celebrating the 8th International Cool Climate Wine Symposium (ICCS) was held on the evening of Thursday 2 February on the waterfront at Wrest Point.  A complimentary return ferry trip between Hobart CBD waterfront and Wrest Point was available for those attending the dinner.

The evening featured world-renowned chef and Tasmanian ambassador, TETSUYA WAKUDA, who joined some of our island's top chefs to showcase our fresh local produce and a selection of our best cool climate wines.

The worlds of wine and stargazing aligned through the dinner presentation by PROFESSOR BRIAN SCHMIDT, Pinot Noir vineyard owner and winemaker.  You may also recognise Professor Schmidt as a 2011 Nobel Laureate for his role in discovering the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate.

The ICCS Gala Dinner was an evening of superb food, wine, intellect and entertainment.  It was also an opportunity for our Australian and international ICCS delegates to share their interests with the broader public.

Tickets for delegates and guests - $180pp; public tickets - $235pp (includes transfers from Hobart CBD to Wrest Point and return).

Dress: semi-formal / cocktail
