NewsDecember 2011 - Considering investing in the wine industry? Why you should look at TasmaniaTasmania’s cool climate wines continue to attract attention from around the world. While vineyards are being removed in other parts of Australia, the Tasmanian wine industry is enjoying modest growth, with recent investments confirming Tasmania’s position as a premium cool climate wine region. Australia’s island state has become a particularly attractive investment location for those seeking to expand or diversify their businesses, due to the region’s cool climate, affordable land, abundant water resources and relative pest and disease freedom. As part of the Tasmanian Government’s Economic Development Plan, the Tasmanian wine industry has been identified as having strong potential for expansion. To accelerate sustainable growth of the industry, the Government has appointed prominent consultants in viticulture, wine making and market innovation, Gary Baldwin (Wine Network Consulting) and Sue Henderson (Wine IP), to assist with the development and implementation of a Wine Industry Development Plan. So, if you are interested in understanding the business case for investing in Tasmania, please come along to an interactive session presented by Gary, Sue and other industry experts. The session will be held during the International Cool Climate Symposium in Hobart, at 11:00 am on Thursday 2 February 2012, venue to be advised.
