About Tasmania Unbottled...
The island state of Tasmania is rapidly increasing its global reputation for crafting some of Australia's best Sparkling and Pinot Noir wines, not to mention stunning Chardonnay and Riesling. Each year around 25-30 Tasmanian wine producers head to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to show consumers and trade their outstanding wines.
In 2011, more than 150 new release and award winning elegant cool climate Tasmanian wines were on show in September 2011. Participating producers included Abel's Tempest, Barringwood Park, Bay of Fires, Bream Creek, Cape Bernier, Clover Hill, Coal Valley Vineyard, Dalrymple, Delamere, Derwent Estate, Devil's Corner, Domaine A / Stoney Vineyard, Frogmore Creek, Glaetzer-Dixon, Goaty Hill, Grey Sands, Heemskerk, Holm Oak, Home Hill, Jansz Tasmania, Josef Chromy, Moores Hill, Moorilla, Native Point, Pirie Tasmania, Spring Vale and Tamar Ridge.
The main trade and consumer tastings in each city were complemented by a series of dinners featuring premium Tasmanian wines matched with specially created menus. Our thanks to the 2011 restaurant partners - e'cco (Brisbane), Coast (Sydney), Pure South (Melbourne) and Grossi Florentino (Melbourne).
In 2011, two preview Tasmanian wine tastings were held with specialist retail partners, and our thanks to the Prince Wine Store (Melbourne) and The Oak Barrel (Sydney) for hosting these events.
